Know before the storm does

The worst time to learn a tree was failing is when it is already on your roof. A professional assessment looks at structure, health, root condition, and lean, then weighs that against what the tree could hit.

You get a clear, honest read: keep it, prune it, cable it, or remove it. No upselling, no fear tactics. Just what we would do if it were our own property.

Coastal Georgia home with hedges and a tidy yard serviced by LoyalTree

What we look at

  • Lean, trunk cracks, and weak branch unions
  • Decay, cavities, and fungal signs
  • Root health and soil conditions
  • Storm and wind exposure
  • What the tree would hit if it failed

2

We could not be more impressed with this tree company! From start to finish, they were an absolute pleasure to work with. Communication was excellent, they arrived right on time, and they delivered exactly what we asked for. They even went above and beyond by removing and cleaning up some old, large stumps we had. As a bird enthusiast, I was especially touched by the care and respect they showed around the large natural nesting area on our property. They took the extra time and had incredible patience while carefully working around the nests and eggs, making sure the birds and their habitat remained safe and undisturbed. This was incredibly meaningful to me, and I cannot express how appreciative I am of their thoughtfulness and compassion. The area was extremely difficult to access, but they handled everything with incredible skill and professionalism. They left the property clean and tidy, and the results exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them!

We loved the service! Michael did an amazing job, very professional, no damages, but also they were available within just a couple of days and I needed that tree to be removed urgently. They cleaned everything after the job and my grass was not harmed! And I even have a nice fire tip table made from the tree log - they helped to cut it flat and transfer it to its place :)) Overall, thank you!

Frequently asked questions

What actually happens during a tree risk assessment?

We walk the tree and its surroundings and look at the whole picture: root flare and soil condition at the base, the trunk for cracks, cavities and decay, the union where major stems meet, the canopy for deadwood and previous damage, and what is underneath it that would get hit if it failed. Then you get a straight answer on what the tree is likely to do and what your options are.

Do I really need an assessment, or can you just look at it?

For one obviously dead tree, you do not need a formal assessment, just a quote. It is worth doing when you have several mature trees over a house, you have just bought a property and do not know its history, a storm has been through and you want to know what is now compromised, or an insurer or HOA is asking questions. The assessment is free either way.

What if you look at it and the tree is fine?

Then we tell you it is fine and you owe us nothing. We would rather give you an honest no than sell you a removal you did not need, because in a county this size the referral is worth far more to us than one job. Plenty of our visits end with leave it alone and check it again in a couple of years.

Can you assess trees before I buy a property?

Yes, and it is money well spent on a wooded lot. Mature trees over a house are a real liability that does not show up on a standard home inspection, and finding out about three dying pines over the roof before closing is a very different conversation than finding out after. We can walk it with you or your agent.

Do I get anything in writing?

Yes. You get a written summary of what we found and what we recommend, which is usually what an insurance adjuster, an HOA or an attorney is actually asking for. If a tree needs work we quote it in the same document so you are not waiting on a second visit.

How often should mature trees be checked?

Every three to five years for healthy mature trees, and after any significant storm regardless of when you last looked. Trees change slowly and then all at once. The failures we get called out to almost always had visible warning signs for a year or more before anybody noticed them.

What areas do you assess?

All of Effingham County from our base in Guyton, plus Bryan County and Richmond Hill, Pooler, Savannah and the South Carolina Lowcountry. Call (912) 342-0440 to set a time.
